NGDO
WHAT DOES THIS D STAND FOR?
Development. To be recognised as an NGDO, an NGO must be registered at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), strictly complying with the established requirements. We are one of the only NGDOs in the world dedicated to creating official degrees, in cooperation with local administrations and universities of the countries where we intervene.
We work to train eye care professionals in low-income countries until they become self-sufficient and no longer depend on external aids such as ours.
We are also a member of the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness), which allows us to coordinate our work with other eye health NGOs.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat today,
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
We empower eye care professionals by creating training programs and supporting their teachers untill they no longer rely on external aids.
To eradicate avoidable blindness and vision loss by improving visual health training capacities of less developped countries.
The support of our incredible partners, donors, private and public sponsors makes our work possible.
Our action responds both to local needs and to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We have created speciality degrees that did not exist in Africa, thus improving the care of its population.
